Eight beautifully designed Bedouin-style canvas tents open to the diverse landscapes of the Serengeti National Park. Designed with elegant simplicity, the Siringit Migration Camp moves in symbiosis with nature migrating with the herds from the spectacular Mara River crossings in Northern Serengeti to the calving season in the Southern Serengeti. With the affirmation of the Earth's resilience to renew, restore and nurture a respect for nature, our seasonal tented camp is conscious of its carbon footprint. The impact it has on the environment as a seasonal camp, migrating with the herds, will be limited. The Siringit Migration Camp has been made in Tanzania using locally sourced and recycled materials. The stretched canvas panels have been cut, handstitched and custom-designed to bring you closer to nature. As canvas boundaries between man and nature fade away, the vast expanses of the Serengeti wilderness inspire a sense of peace and harmony. LOCATIONS
KiliGolf Or Dollys Private Wildlife Estate
KILIGOLF: The Kilimanjaro Golf and Wildlife Estate. Kiligolf is situated on 1,040 acres of prime African bushland, nestled between Mt Kilimanjaro and Mt Meru. To the south stretches the Maasai Steppe and the great ridges of the ancient Eastern Arc chain: the Pare, Usambara, and Blue Mountains, all of which are visible from the estate. The Usa River, an important water source, runs along the western side of the estate. DOLLYS PRIVATE WILDLIFE ESTATE: Dolly Estate is bordering the Maji ya Chai River. The riverbanks are covered in riverine bush and magnificent acacia trees, interspersed with wild fig trees as well as the equally grand Kigelia trees and sausage trees. This vegetation provides shelter to many species of birds and smaller mammals, some of the larger ones are bushbuck, duiker and dik dik, occasionally bush pigs, monitor lizards and vervet monkeys. On Dolly Estate, in the vicinity of the house, are a number of wild introduced species including zebra, wildebeest and eland.
Tarangire National Park
Elephants and baobabs abound! It is the vast number of baobabs that first catch your eye as you enter Tarangire. The gently rolling countryside is dotted with these majestic trees, which seem to dwarf the animals that feed beneath them. This baobab-studded park, two hours easy drive from Arusha, is spectacular in the second half of the year when huge herds congregate near the perennial Tarangire River. These nomadic tribes of animals are drawn to it like a magnet. Elephant, wildebeest, zebra, eland and oryx all gather here until the onset of the rains when they move on again in search of good grazing areas. And, of course, where there are herds, there are predators - lion, leopard, and more. It is also a fine birding destination. Tarangire is second only to the Ngorongoro Crater Conservation Area in concentrations of wildlife. The elephant viewing here is truly fabulous - it is not unusual to see several hundred pachyderms in a single game drive.
Ngorongoro Conservation Area Authority
The ultimate Big Five destination - often known as the eighth wonder of the world, this UNESCO World Heritage Site in northern Tanzania boasts a blend of landscapes, wildlife, people and archaeology that is unsurpassed in Africa. Its volcanoes, grasslands, waterfalls and mountain forests are home to an abundance of animals, and to the Maasai, who still tend their cattle amid the herds of game. It's not just the wildlife that captivates visitors, though. Often referred to as the Garden of Eden, the park is something of a scenic showstopper. The Crater itself is the largest unbroken caldera in the world. As you roll down the slopes towards the Crater floor the view is simply breathtaking. Its 600m sheer-drop walls surround 260km2 of fertile savannah, a natural sanctuary for thousands of animals, including the world's densest lion and hyena populations, ground-scraping tuskers and the endangered black rhino. Birdlife is plentiful too, including thousands of flamingos that flock to Lake Magadi, turning its waters pink.
Migration NSerengeti Or SSerengeti Or Ndutu
Depending on the time of year that you are travelling the location of your experience will vary. The journey for the key players in the Great Migration, the roughly two million wildebeest, starts in the south of the Serengeti, with the birth of half a million calves between January and March. A favourite season for many of the seasoned Serengeti guides: the air during these months is full of new life and action. Predators like lions and hyenas are constantly hunting for babies, and thousands and thousands of calves are born within a couple weeks of each other – a feast for the eyes of true wildlife enthusiasts. When the drought comes in May, the herd moves north, towards the Masai Mara in Kenya, chomping down the high green grass, quickly followed by the gazelles and zebras. The migration is not without risk: crossing rivers means facing about 3,000 crocodiles, patiently waiting for a kill. Not to mention the famous Serengeti lion population: by far the largest in Africa. Despite the abundance of hoofed meat in this area, life is not easy for these big cats in this unforgiving landscape. But seeing a group of lions collaborating to hunt down a wildebeest is an unforgettable sight. Then, with the beginning of the short rains in late October, the migration makes its way back into the Serengeti. By December, the herds trek past Seronera - a small settlement in central Serengeti where the official Serengeti Visitors’ Centre is located - to return to their calving grounds again, and the circle is complete.

CULTURAL SAFARIS
Ask any first-time traveler to Africa what they are looking forward to seeing most and they will probably reply, “the wildlife”. Ask them, on their return home, what the best bit of their trip was and they will more than likely say, “the people”. East Africans are among the most welcoming and approachable people on earth. With a wide variety of fascinating cultures to discover, a cultural excursion is likely to be one of the most rewarding experiences of your holiday.
Mostly locally run, village visits give communities the chance to show their lifestyle to the outside world on their own terms as well as provide income directly to the village. You can visit for a few hours or even a few days.
